A singer/songwriter named Yasminah claims the track stole elements from her 2009 song “Hooyo.”

TMZ reported on Tuesday that The Weeknd and Daft Punk are being sued over their 2016 collaborative hit track "Starboy." A singer/songwriter named Yasminah reportedly filed a lawsuit claiming "Starboy" stole elements from a 2009 song titled "Hooyo" that Yasminah co-wrote and released. TMZ also points out that two producers on "Hooyo" have previously threatened lawsuits over the song, and eventually settled out of court. Yasminah is reportedly suing Daft Punk and The Weeknd for $5 million.
