On Thursday night, Cardi B and her team were out in Brooklyn to give away free coats and shoes at a housing complex, Billboard points out. Cardi was seen at the Marlboro housing complex giving out shoes, coats, and more to hundreds of fans who stood outside for hours to be with the Invasion of Privacy star.
Speaking to reporters from ABC about the event, Cardi said, "I didn't know it was going to be so big! My homeboy Chuck told me 'Hey, let's give out coats to our community. I know somebody who's trying to give out coats,' and I said, 'I'm pulling up, what's up, I'm in here, let's go!'"
The BX star also shared footage from the evening on Friday, saying that a local clothing designer named Aston Martin Chuck reached out to members of Cardi's team and asked if she would participate in a clothing drive, and which everyone quickly jumped on board. Some of the clothing was reportedly donated with help from Trax NYC, Daniel’s Leather, and NY Tent Sale.
In a post on Instagram, Cardi said that she "can't wait" to put on a similar event in her home borough of the Bronx in the future.
