Issue 31

Cover31_cover

This is The FADER's summer music issue, so you know that means there's no rushing into these pages to find lists of hott summer mix traxxx to download, celeb tips to beat the heat, Kanye's tasty Chitown BBQ sauce recipe or (sadly) pages of girls in bikinis in the tropics. None of that! Instead try this: take this issue and stunt it all around your neighborhood. When you do you'll be showing off our exclusive cover story on the White Stripes-something we have to cop to being kinda proud of, especially because Alladstair Maclellan's photography and Will Welch's writing grapple with the most mythical, cultish band of our time and manage to come up with something new and revelatory to share with you. Anyways-while you're out promenading with the new FADER, run past the mixtape spot, grab up a couple of the new roots reggae compilations and bump those when you get back to the crib; Damian Marley's new tune "Welcome To Jamrock" may've already melted your radio but reggae's wave of one drop Rasta revival has enough fire for the rest of your summer-and we've got the scoop on that as well. Anyway, let someone else worry about the BBQ sauce or whatever. You've got The FADER to fuck with.
