Freeload: DJ Ayres' Michael Jackson Mix

It's easy to make jokes about MJ, but he has made some of the best songs basically ever, even up through the weird later period of his career when he had to hide his face in videos and maybe made a deal with a Sultan somewhere or something like that. DJ Ayres doesn't want us to forget, so he put together this chronological mix that you can download for 0 dollars and 0 cents below.

  • Video: The Dream f. Young Jeezy, "I Luv Your Girl"

Man, we went to this thing called Sonic Visions last weekend that someone told us was a lazer show and it turned out to be this planetarium thing with "music curated by Moby". It was pretty awesome actually, but no lazers. The Dream and Jeezy's video has a ton of lazers.

  • Video: Jamie Lidell, "Another Day"

For some reason we still get way too excited when two artists we've covered collaborate to do something cool. At this point, we've covered so many artists that collaborations will start popping off daily anytime now. Today, two recent FADER exclusives come together to make a nutso music video. Last November, we interviewed Jamie Lidell after the debut of his no-longer-one-man band in LA, and in September, we got Timothy Saccenti to teach you how to make a video. Now, the two have come together to make this weirdly romantic little piece for a song off Jamie's Jim. And we didn't even introduce them.

For those who don't regularly watch Dave (we don't, but did as runts), the extended handshake with a kiss is his way of saying he thinks a woman is something special. This video also gives us confidence that Estelle doesn't really need Kanye to keep our attention. Her eyes are gigantic!

Hey have you guys heard this song "Love In This Club" yet? Radio will probably hop on it any minute now, so keep your ears tuned. In the meantime, we found this on the internet and Lil Wayne sounds crazy! Can you believe it??

  • Video: R. Kelly, "Hairbraider"

Despite "Hairbraider" being a near note-for-note remake of The-Dream's "Shawty Is Da Shit" there is value in the video, as it unveils Kellz' new Goldmember alter ego, inexplicably big choppers and all, which we saw in a press photo recently but weren't sure if it was going to be a thing or not. It is definitely a thing.

  • Freeload: The Hump Mixtape Vol. 1

    Lyles_main
We stole this off your MySpace
The most handsome DJ couple in the world, Lindsey and Myles, just sent over this new hour-long mix as a present to all their Hump supporters. They went half on it with Myles doing the first 30 minutes and Lindsey the second. Like a baby! Or something. Myles laces (yes, laces) his part with nothing but lazy days summer jams, while Lindsey goes heavy into Nellie Hooperville (or is it Jazzie B&B?), our favorite '90s sub-genre at the moment, before some major new jack city shit. In other words, now music. And it's finally warm enough in New York to put on some short shorts and go to their party at the Blue Owl tonight and not catch wreck off pneumonia. So do that.

  • Freeload: Mariah Carey f. R Kelly, "Touch My Body" Remix

    Kelly_main
Here in sunny and beautiful FADER-land we have fully embraced this Summer's crop of R&B jammers, including like half of Mariah Carey's new album. This remix isn't featured on the album but is notable because R Kelly is on it, and he is doing that awesome thing he does where he completely disregards whatever is going on in the original song and sings a verse about singing a verse plus some awkward sexual stuff.

    Jdoe_main
We listened to this Jdoe song like three times in a row trying to decide if it was awesome or annoying and then we were like we listened to this song three times in a row. To nerd out a little, at like 2:18 the song turns into an ultimate jam, so if you're not feeling it just go to that part and listen to it over and over.

Okay Ryan Leslie. We see you. Making the space jams for the couchhumpers. We also see you dancing to this song in our mind's eye, twitching and popping to a beat that is not this song's. And we love it. We see you too Cassie. Doing your thing. And Glenn. You devil. Don't let the flash slow your eye game.

  • Audio: Mariah Carey f. Young Jeezy, "Side Effects"

    Mariah_main
Today is not actually FADER r&b day, but since that's kind of how it's turning out we decided we should post this. There was some talk around the office the other day that if Jeezy went ahead and made a weird side project album where he worked with singers to make melancholy and/or brooding club songs we'd be totally into it and now we are even more sure of that. Also, Jeezy says: Misery loves company so we ain't trying to hang with y'all. Go in dude!

  • Video: Sean Garrett f. Ludacris, "Grippin On The Bed"

Sean Garrett has written so many hit songs for so many people he is nicknamed The Pen, but like countless other behind-the-scenes'ers (Kanye, NeYo, the-Dream, Shaquille O'Neil, Tony Parker-Longoria) he is not content. He wants the world to hear his own voice, to speak in his own words with his own passionate vocal inflections! Which is awesome, because Sean Garrett is awesome. And of course, his words are more seductive than Tony Yayo, because when you're writing that much behind a desk (or on a BlackBerry), you have a lot of pent-up energy. As is evidenced by the video for his first single, where he is swaying, singing and freaking very seriously. Incidentally, this includes one of our favorite Ludacris verses in a hot minute.

  • Freeload: Ray J, "I Like to Trick"

    Rayj_main
Yesterday we listened to Ray J's new album on Koch, All I Feel, about seven times. We couldn't get enough of its breezy rub-u-down vocals and the way they reminded us of summer. We IM'd with no less than three of our friends about Ray J, and talked about how he totally dated Whitney (according to Bobby Brown's new autobiography) and wondered when Ray J's sister Brandy is releasing another album, and then read this interview our friend Toshi did with him and thought about the fact that T-Pain was talking about his weiner. Then we listened to his album again. We might be a little obsessed, but we'll be done soon, we promise. But we also like to share, which is why we are giving you this track called "I Like to Trick" off Ray J's album. It has lots of different vocal effects and marimbas, and embodies the sweaty supine (ahem) focus of his sexy record.

Akon, T-Pain, matching gullwing Lambo and grand, old cellphones, crane shots, rain-soaked streets, giving flowers to nice looking girls. This video is the Large Hadron Collider of things that makes us super jazzed on a Monday morning. And while it may not create tiny black holes through which time travel is possible, there will definitely be an episode of Lost that heavily pivots on this song at some point next season. WE'RE CALLING IT.

Ty & Kory, included in our LA Soul story in FADER 43, have reappeared after some dormant months with a new mixtape titled Raw & Bangin', Vol. 2, which you can stream over at their label Buddah Brown, recently started by music industry vet Venus Brown. There are a couple "freestyles" but mostly it's their own smoothass bedroom bangers. Also, where else are you gonna find Bijou Phillips, Method Man and Sal Masakela on the same tracklist? Hopefully nowhere!
