Become Zen With Jeff Wootton’s New Single “The Eternal”
The Gorillaz collaborator’s debut album is coming soon.
Gorillaz and Damon Albarn collaborator Jeff Wootton has a new single called "The Eternal" premiering on The FADER today, the first from his forthcoming debut album, The Way the Light. The folk-y, mellow track induces the same emotion attached to sitting around a campfire and finding serenity. The Manchester guitarist admits to using a secret weapon to create the soothing, rhythmic melody: "It features an African instrument called imzad, which is a rare single-string bowed instrument used by the Tuareg people in Africa," Wootton told The FADER. "I recorded the imzad when I was in Mali with Damon Albarn."
"The Eternal" is a preview of the new sound of music present on his new album: "It’s a sonically driven album, like a sonic exploration," he continued. Wootton will be opening for rock band Blur on the UK leg of their world tour. Check the list of dates below.
