Yung Lean turned in the fifth entry in this year’s Adult Swim singles series. His contribution, “Crystal Clear Ice,” mixes ferocious hi-hats and billowing clouds of backing vocals—part church choir, part technologically-altered groans. The rapper drawls, making slowness and repetition seem like a radical choice: crystal clear ice, feeling like a snow man/ when I came through, everybody seemed so slow, man.
