Indictment Links Young Thug And Birdman To Gang Activity And Lil Wayne Shooting
The police searched Thug’s house yesterday.
The last two days haven’t been good for Young Thug. Yesterday he was arrested and accused of “terroristic threats” after threatening a mall security guard. WSBTV Atlanta also reported that the police raided and searched the rapper’s house yesterday. According to an indictment obtained by the channel, Young Thug and Birdman are under suspicion of colluding with Jimmy Winfrey to kill Lil Wayne.
Winfrey, Thug's former road manager, shot up Wayne’s tour bus and then turned himself over to the authorities in June. The indictment suggests that Winfrey called Thug before the incident and Birdman right after it.
The indictment does not charge Thug or Birdman, though it suggests that the two MCs, Winfrey, and Wayne are all members of the Bloods. The document also uses Thug’s Instagram and his “Halftime” video (above) as evidence of gang involvement and violent intent. In the clip, there’s a shot of Thug sitting with a rifle in his lap (2:39), and another man points a gun at the camera shortly after that. There's also a line where Thug possibly alludes to the shooting: Fuck nigga try me I swear to God, Lil Whodi done pull up and pop at his noggin.
