Kehlani Covered Drake’s “Hotline Bling” With Charlie Puth
Drake’s latest hit is remade as a tender duet.
At the end of July, Drake released "Hotline Bling" through Beats 1 radio. As with many of Drake's loosies, it is now a hit: the track has been on the Hot 100 for four weeks, and it recently cracked the top 30. The song has also attracted the admiration of several other artists. Alessia Cara covered it for an Australian TV station, and today Kehlani released her own version of the track. Somewhat unexpectedly, she teamed up with Charlie Puth for the new rendition. In their hands, "Hotline Bling" is a molasses-slow, piano-heavy duet—Puth pushes his voice so far up the scale he almost evaporates. Listen below, and read FADER's cover story on Kehlani.
