Dynoman Shares “Lana”
A new offering from the Forever South collective.
Haamid Rahim, who co-founded the Forever South collective of beatmakers, spoke with FADER earlier this year about making music in Karachi, Pakistan. "If you wish to learn a skill, or further a skill you think you already have," he explained, "Karachi is a great place to be. There is not too much to do here in terms of entertainment, so learning about music, producing and practicing is very easy."
Rahim unveiled a new tune recently under his Dynoman moniker. In "Lana"—the title track for a forthcoming project, Janaicah 2: Songs For Lana—an expressive vocal snippet washes over a light electronic beat. In the song's prettiest moments, another sample rises to add high harmony.
Listen below, and meet the rising stars of Karachi's fraught yet fertile creative scene.
