M.O Recognize Their Blessings In “Good Friends”
The London trio feed our 90s R&B nostalgia and social drama.
With the ink still wet on their new deal with Polydor Records, M.O is working toward the release of a new EP tonight at midnight. But first the R&B trio have given us a little taste of what they have in store with "Good Friends," a track that sounds fresh and harkens back to the 90s R&B they were trained on.
Over a wobbly beat by Bless Beats that is built upon a pitched-up vocal loop, the girls go in on the rarity—and blessing—that is a good friend. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I came to realize, you're no friend of mine, they sing in harmony, before going on to conclude that good friends are hard to find.
"The track's based on some real life experiences. We love the vibe on it and we hope people can relate," M.O wrote in an email to The FADER. "Basically good friends are hard to find, so keep hold of them. It's solidarity that's the key!'
