Chance The Rapper Calls Spike Lee “A Lame, A Liar”
He fires back after the director lobs insults at a screening of his new film.
Chance The Rapper has vocally criticized Spike Lee's new movie Chi-Raq, calling the film “exploitative and problematic” The director responded by highlighting Chance's ties to the Chicago mayor's office and said “As an artist, I'm going to look at it from both sides.”
Last week, Lee screened Chi-Raq in Evanston, Il, and once again took a swipe at Chance. According to XXL, he said “Chance The Rapper’s a fraud. Straight-up fraud. He puts himself up as a speaker of the people, but that means you have to put truths that you see. That doesn’t mean you can pick and choose what you talk about.”
Chance caught wind, and aired Spike out on Twitter.
