Rihanna Is Celebrating 4/20 By Premiering The “Needed Me” Video
The latest ANTI visual drops at noon EST.
Praise RIHsus: a new ANTI visual arrives today. Early this morning, April 20, Rihanna posted three soft-focus images to her Instagram, tagging all three #NEEDEDME #NOON #VEVO. In the pictures, Rihanna wields a gun while wearing a gauzy robe, gazes wistfully through a pane of glass, and smokes a blunt. "Just because it’s 420," she writes in one caption.
In the posts, she also flagged that the video is directed by leftfield filmmaker Harmony Korine—who’s directed music videos for Cat Power ("Living Proof") and Sonic Youth ("Sunday"), in addition to his work on movies like Kids and Spring Breakers.
Following her Dada-inspired “Kiss It Better,” it seems like Rih is embracing an artier feel for the follow up videos to “Work” (which is currently spending its ninth week as Billboard number one). Still no sign of that Louis Vuitton horse though.
