Rostam Debuts New Solo Track And Another Collaboration With Hamilton Leithauser
The musician says he may still work with Vampire Weekend in the future.
Rostam swung by KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on Monday to play some new tunes and talk about what the future holds for him musically, spotted via Pitchfork. He played a solo track titled "Gwan" (at 13:15 into the interview) and another (31:13) from his project with Hamilton Leithauser (I Had A Dream That You Were Mine will be out September 23). He also cleared up "leaving" Vampire Weekend earlier this year and just what being a solo artist means to him.
Talking about working with Vampire Weekend and other artists in the future the musician said, “there’s no actual clear lines drawn as to what the future holds.”
“For me, it meant [being] open to doing stuff with Vampire Weekend, open to doing stuff on my own, to doing stuff with other people.
