Melania Trump sat down with CNN's Anderson Cooper for an interview airing tonight, and took the opportunity to defend her husband on camera for the first time since a litany of allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced last week implicating Mr. Trump.

Specifically, Melania spoke to the infamous 2005 "Grab em by the pussy" tape, asserting that her husband was "egged on," and encouraged by former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush to engage in what she dubs "boy talk" and "to say dirty and bad stuff."

Ms. Trump also did offer a condemnation of the language her husband used, stating, "I said to my husband that, you know, the language was inappropriate. It's not acceptable." However, she also made sure to qualify her statement by insisting his behavior in the clip was out of character: "I was surprised," she says, because that is not the man that I know."

Ms. Trump also added, offering a particularly compelling defense, that maybe Donald didn't know he was being recorded: "And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on -- it was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on."

Previously, Melania had also previously offered a written statement on the 2005 clip, the contents of which are echoed in today's interview. "The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me," wrote Trump, "This does not represent the man that I know." Read the full story here, via CNN.
