Zaytoven Confirms Jay Z Collaboration
Jay-Zaytoven / Jaytoven / Zay-Hoven.
Zaytoven discussed an upcoming collaboration with Jay Z in a new interview with Billboard. The Atlanta producer had shared an Instagram post of the two in the studio late last year.
The thought that Jay Z even listened to his music hadn't occurred to Zaytoven, until he was in L.A. for a meeting with music publishing executive Big Jon. "[Jon] was like, 'Me and Jay was just talking about you,'" Zaytoven said. "So he text him and [Jay Z] said, 'You have Zaytoven over there? Can he come to the house?' And I’m like, What? For real?"
As always, Jay was very specific about the kind of beats he wanted. "First thing [Jay Z] said [to Big Jon], 'Tell him when he come over, make sure he bring them beats with them strings and pianos in it.' So that means he’s paying attention to what I’m doing."
There's no announced release date or format for the collaboration, but it is coming. "I feel like [the collaboration] is gonna be for both of [our projects]," Zaytoven said. "I know it's going to be a trophy for me."
