Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 5 Show Has Been Rescheduled Following Criticism From Fashion Week Organizers
After reproaching the rapper and designer for not adhering to the “formal procedure,” CFDA boss Steven Kolb says Kanye had been “unaware” of the scheduling conflicts.
After Kanye West and Adidas announced the debut of Yeezy Season 5 at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday, Council of Fashion Designers of America boss Steven Kolb expressed outrage in a statement to Women's Wear Daily, saying Kanye hadn't gone through the "proper channels" to notify the CFDA about the show.
The Yeezy Season 5 show, originally scheduled to take place on February 15 at 5 p.m. at Pier 59, was not featured on the NYFW schedule as of Wednesday. The show has now been added to the official schedule with a 3 p.m. start time.
"Kanye called me personally to let me know that he had no intention of showing on top of another designer, and was unaware that there was a conflict," Kolb told Hypebeast in a follow-up statement. "He explained that once he realized Marchesa was in the time slot, he immediately looked at alternative options."
