Lady Gaga Got A Huge Sales Boost After Playing The Super Bowl Half-Time Show
Gaga’s sales increased 1000% following her acrobatic performance on Sunday.
Lady Gaga's hit-filled set at the Super Bowl on Sunday has seen her sales increase massively. Data from Nielsen Music shows that Gaga sold around 150,000 digital albums and songs in the U.S. on the day of her performance in Houston, an increase of over 1,000% compared to the day before the football game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.
In addition to the albums sales, Gaga also sold over 125,000 song downloads. This was around about 960% compared to the previous day. Of those songs, Joanne single "Million Reasons" was the biggest-selling with 45,000 downloads. Meanwhile, “Bad Romance” sales were up 1,525% and “Born This Way” increased by 2,202%.
Additionally, streams of the singer’s catalogue in the U.S. have skyrocketed on Spotify. Data from the music streaming service shows that streams of her material are up 605% in total with a 674% increase on the songs played during the Super Bowl set. "Born This Way" proved particularly popular on Spotify with streams of that song going up 1085%.
Lady Gaga announced a world tour the day after the Super Bowl. The Joanne World Tour kicks off in north America this August.
