Donald Glover Will Reportedly Voice Simba In The Lion King Remake
Along with James Earl Jones, reprising his role as Mufasa.
Donald Glover has reportedly been cast as Simba in a forthcoming remake of The Lion King, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jon Favreau, slated to direct the film, hinted at the news on his Instagram today, posting a picture of Glover along the caption, "I just can’t wait to be king. #Simba." Favreau also shared news on another casting choice, James Earl Jones, who will apparently reprise his role as Simba's father, Mufasa.
The news follows a massive 2016 for Glover, capped off by major Golden Globes wins for Atlanta in January, and news that he'll also play Lando Calrissian in a Han Solo-centric Star Wars prequel set for 2018.
