Swizz Beatz Accused Balenciaga Of Stealing A Classic Ruff Ryders Shirt Design
“I Might just want you to open up a fashion school in the Bronx or Harlem just so you can give back to the culture,” the producer wrote to the brand on Instagram.
Shortly after Gucci was accused of ripping off Dapper Dan's one of a kind piece ("it was an homage"), Swizz Beatz took to Instagram to point out another uncanny similarity between a major design house's runway design and a classic street style. Balenciaga's Spring/Summer 2018 collection features a buttondown with the Balenciaga logo, but the stylization of the font is noticeably similar to the font of a Ruff Ryders shirt from 2000.
"We must have a talk about this Ruff Ryder shirt ASAP," Swizz Beatz wrote on Instagram, before posting a picture of the original Ruff Ryders shirt, circa 2000, for comparison. "Call me back blessings. I Might just want you to open up a fashion school in the Bronx or Harlem just so you can give back to the culture."
Representatives for Swizz Beatz and Balenciaga did not immediately return requests for comment.
