Hannibal Buress Couldn’t Make The Spider-Man Premiere So He Sent A Lookalike
Actor Joe Carroll stepped in for the comedian on Wednesday night in Hollywood.
Comedian Hannibal Buress hired a stand-in to pose as him on the red carpet for the premiere of the new Spider-Man movie. The premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming took place in Hollywood on Wednesday night, June 28, but Buress was doing stand up in Atlanta. However, the comedian, who plays Coach Wilson in the superhero movie, sent out now-deleted tweets requesting a "lookalike with solid comedic timing."
As EW reports, a man identifying as Hannibal Buress subsequently walked the red carpet and spoke to the press about his role in the blockbuster. The comedy value of this was not lost on the real Hannibal.
Buress's lookalike is Joe Carroll, who describes himself as an author, screenwriter, director, and actor on Instagram. Originally from Nashville, he now lives in Los Angeles.
Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives in cinemas on July 7.
