Report: Meek Mill Arrested In New York
The rapper was reportedly arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after being picked up by police.
Meek Mill was arrested in New York on Thursday night, New York Daily News reports. Police said he is accused of riding an illegal dirt bike, with no helmet, and popping wheelies.
Authorities were alerted after Meek posted a clip of his activities on Instagram. The rapper was arrested at about 10:15 p.m. at the corner of 10th Ave. and Dyckman St., according to police.
His lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, told the paper he was being singled out for his fame. “That level of investigation is normally reserved for heinous crimes, not for petty offenses like doing a wheelie on the street where you're endangering no one's life but your own," Tacopina said.
Prior to his arrest Meek pre-recorded a performance for The Tonight Show alongside The-Dream.
A spokesperson for Meek Mill was not immediately available for comment.
