Beyoncé And Drake Lead Prayers For Texas Amid Hurricane Harvey Destruction

The state of Texas is facing a lengthy recovery effort after Hurricane Harvey caused billions of dollars-worth of damage in the state this weekend. Houston, the fourth largest city in the U.S., was among the worst hit areas with untold homes and businesses damaged or destroyed across the state. Five people are reported to have died as a result of the adverse weather conditions, which is expected to continue in Texas and Louisiana this week.
Musicians and other celebrities have been doing their best to encourage their followers to support the various relief efforts, or simply to consider those unfortunate enough to be caught up in the devastation. Both Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland have shared message of support for the city. Drake, meanwhile, wrote on Instagram that he is "working with local relief groups" to aid a city close to his heart.
Comedian Kevin Hart donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to go toward Hurricane Harvey relief. He challenged other famous names, including Dwayne Johnson, Beyoncé, Chris Rock, and Justin Timberlake, to do the same.
