The collector’s edition of DAMN. reverses the tracklist
The album is meant to be played both ways.
A collector's edition of Kendrick Lamar's Grammy-nominated DAMN. is now available on Microsoft's online store. Featuring a new album cover, the special edition reverses the tracklist, going from "BLOOD." to "DNA." In August, Kendrick confirmed that the album was meant to be listened to in reverse order, after fans had speculated that the twist was intentional.
“I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards,” he told MTV News several months after the album's initial release. “It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio.”
DAMN. earned Kendrick seven Grammy nominations, including Best Album. The collector's edition is not yet available outside the Microsoft store.
