Medical examiner confirms Lil Peep died from Fentanyl and Xanax overdose
A toxicology report from the Pima County Medical Examiner has confirmed the 21-year-old’s cause of death.
After initial reports from the Pima County medical examiner's office speculated that Lil Peep had passed away from an overdose, a toxicology report has confirmed that the artist, real name Gustav Åhr, died from overdosing on Xanax and Fentanyl, TMZ reports. Fentanyl, the powerful synthetic opioid, can be 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and has lead to an epidemic of overdoses in the past decade, including Prince's death in 2016.

At the end of November, TMZ reported that law enforcement was investigating the involvement of Fentanyl in Peep's death.
Since Peep's death, many artists have payed tribute, including iLoveMakonnen, Lil B, Good Charlotte, and more.
