Download Shine, a compilation of experimental club tracks raising money for Puerto Rico relief
With new music from producers Ziúr, Endgame, Bonaventure, and more.
New York-based label PTP is releasing a new compilation today titled Shine. It's a meaty collection of 27 angular, deconstructed club tracks — including new ones (and music that was previously unreleased digitally) from Berlin-based artist Ziúr, London duo Y1640 (a.k.a. Coucou Chloé and Sega Bodega), Bala Club member Endgame, and PAN affiliate ||FLORA. Most importantly, all proceeds from the release go to Operation Time to Shine, a Puerto Rico relief effort begun in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
"It is evident that we are living in a time of constant spiritual, mental, and physical opposition," Geng, founder of PTP, told The FADER in an email. "In navigating these systems of ills, I want to be conscious of the space I choose to occupy, and realize how my energy can be most beneficial to not only myself, but also my friends and my neighbors. I wanted to shine light on Derrick Cruz's selfless initiative — Operation Time To Shine — as it is proof of this expansion from one person into a community of helpful souls. This compilation was created as a show of solidarity to our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters." Listen to the compilation below, and pay what you want for it at Bandcamp.
