Justin Timberlake says he and Janet Jackson “resolved the situation” after the “wardrobe malfunction”
Timberlake will perform at the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show.
When Justin Timberlake was announced as the performer at the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show, a discussion launched surrounding the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" involving Timberlake and Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, and which artist had paid the bigger price in the resulting public outrage. Zane Lowe brought up the incident in a recent Beats 1 interview, which you can watch above via Stereogum.
“I stumbled through it, to be quite honest,” Timberlake said of his previous Super Bowl appearence. “I had my wires crossed and it’s just something that you have to look back on and go like, OK, well you know, you can’t change what’s happened but you can move forward and learn from it..” When Lowe asked if he and Jackson had "resolved the situation" after the performance, Timberlake responded affirmatively. "Absolutely, yeah. And I don't know that a lot of people know that. I don't think it's my job to do that because you value the relationships that you do have with people."
Justin Timberlake will release his new album Man of the Woods on February 2. Watch the music video for his new single "Filthy" here, and check out his upcoming tour dates.
