Drake’s “God’s Plan” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100
He now has as many Hot 100-charting songs in one decade as The Beatles and Mariah Carey.
Both tracks from Drake's new EP Scary Hours will debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, according to Billboard. "God's Plan" will enter at No. 1 and "Diplomatic Immunity" charting in the No. 7 spot.
"God's Plan" has set records on different streaming platforms since its release. The opening Scary Hours track set the record for most single day streams on Spotify in the United States, then broke that record again a few days later. The song was streamed 14 million times worldwide on Apple Music according to Zane Lowe, the most ever on the platform. All together, the song was reportedly streamed a record-setting 68 million times through audio subscription platforms.
Chart Data's analysis says the release of Scary Hours puts Drake in some rarified territory for musicians. He now has more top 10 Hot 100 singles in the 2010s than Rihanna, and is one of three musical acts with 20 or more Hot 100 singles in a single decade. The other two members of this exclusive club are The Beatles and Mariah Carey.
