Migos on course for second No. 1 album with Culture II
They could become only the fifth rap group with more than one chart-topping album.
Migos look likely to secure its second straight No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports. Culture II was released on January 26 and is on course to earn up to 200,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
The album, which features the singles "MotorSport" and "Stir Fry," was released one year on from 2017's Culture. That album sold 131,000 units in its first week. The Billboard 200 chart will be announced on Sunday, February 4.
Should they hold on to the top spot, Migos will become just the fifth rap group with more than one No. 1 album. Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset would line up alongside Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and D12 in the history books.
Culture II features Drake, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane among others. Production credits include Pharrell, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, and Mike Dean with additional production from Kanye West.
