Major league subway busker Mike Yung is crowdfunding a debut album
It’s called Never Give Up.
In case you've ever found yourself swept away in serenade at the 23rd St. subway station in Manhattan, there's a high likelihood that you were hearing the smooth stylings of Mike Yung. He's been busking in the subway for close to four decades, all the while supporting his family in Brownsville. His cover of The Righteous Brothers caught the eye of James Corden (and brought Reggie Watts to tears), and his clips have racked millions of views on Twitter and Youtube.
Yung was once signed to T Electric years back, but the label went bankrupt before he could put out music. Now, Yung is hoping to finally record his debut album titled Never Give Up. He's set up a Kickstarter to fund the LP, and there's some pretty dope rewards for donors, including autographed pictures and t-shirts. He's also released a soulful first original single, titled "Alright." Listen to it below, and be sure to check out Mike Yung's Kickstarter page.
