David Byrne enlists Detroit high schoolers for his new music video
Streaming royalties from the “Everybody’s Coming To My House” clip will go to the Detroit School of Arts.
David Byrne has shared the music video for "Everybody's Coming To My House," off his latest album American Utopia. The clip features a special group of students from the Detroit School of Arts singing an acapella, gospel-infused cover of the song. The video was filmed by students from the school’s TV and radio programs during Byrne's visit.
Byrne also released a mini documentary, American Utopia: Detroit, which provides a bit more info on the students. Byrne does not appear in either clip. According to the video's Youtube description, “The streaming royalties from this video will go to Detroit School of Arts, who were also given a stipend for their participation and hard work in this project.”
