Watch Emma González’s heart-wrenching ’March For Our Lives’ speech
She stood silent after naming all 17 of her slain schoolmates.
As today's 'March For Our Lives' has taken the nation by storm, protesters converged upon the main stage in D.C. to hear passionate the cries of the event's organizers. Among those who took the stage — and quite frankly stole the show — was Emma González, the young woman who has become sort of the face of the movement. González wasted no time in delivering an absolutely rampant speech, detailing memories she shared with the students that were murdered.
As she struggled to name each of her 17 schoolmates who were slain in the shooting, she then stood silent before sharing that since the time she had walked out to speak, 6 minutes and 20 seconds had passed, signifying the time it took for the shooter to commit the atrocity.
Among the other speakers were of students from across the nation, including survivors of the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary shooting.
