Lil Durk says RondoNumbaNine is “going to get out soon”
The Chicago rapper was sentenced to 39 years in prison for murder in 2016.
In 2016, Clint Massey a.k.a. Chicago rapper RondoNumbaNine was sentenced to 39 years in prison for the 2014 murder of Javan Boyd. His friend and collaborator Lil Durk discussed his case in a recent interview with Billboard, saying that Rondo may be released from prison on appeal in the near future.
"I want to set up a good future for RondoNumbaNine," Durk said when asked about his plans for his label Only The Family Entertainment. "We've been back and forth with lawyers on his appeal and it's looking really good. He's going to get out soon."
It's the most optimistic Durk has been about Rondo's case since 2016, when he tweeted "Don't think rondo About to be gone to long" prior to sentencing.
The FADER has reached out to Lil Durk's representative for comment. Last week, Durk announced his departure from Def Jam and dropped his new project Just Cause Y'all Waited.
