S4U’s “Refrain” video is a creepy concrete nightmare

Watch the new visuals from the London duo.

S4U, the London-based duo who wowed us with their seductive alt-R&B, are back with a new song and video. "Refrain" is a sparse kiss-off to a lover co-produced by JD Reid. The track is given a suitably dark visual in which we see the two members of S4U in the claustrophobic confines of a tower block stairwell, surrounded by an array of disturbing characters. Anyone with a snake phobia will want to prepare themselves for this one.

“The video is a study; a controlled social experiment exploring themes of voyeurism and our obsession with idolatry," S4U told The FADER via email. "The act of observing the observer, the world is an exhibition and we're all works of art. The characters in the video represent a cross-section of the aforementioned themes, passing each other in a concrete jungle. A swansong to identity in the modern age.”

Later this year S4U will drop a mixtape via their new label Different Recordings. They play the following live dates this summer:
