The organization behind Donda’s House Inc. announces name change
The news comes after Rhymefest and Kim Kardashian West tweeted about the organization that benefits Chicago’s youth.
Following a series of tweets from both Rhymefest and Kim Kardashian, Donda's House Inc., which is an organization serving Chicago's youth, announced they will change their name. Donda's House Inc. was named after Kanye West's mother, who passed away in 2007.
The decision comes after Rhymefest, a Chicago rapper who was a longtime collaborator with Kanye West and who was heavily involved in Donda's House Inc., tweeted at Drake to send the money from the invoice that he publicly sent to G.O.O.D. Music and Pusha T to support the work of the organization, claiming that "I spoke to Kanye about it. His response was 'fuck the youth of Chicago.'"
Kim Kardashian West responded to the tweets from Rhymefest in defense of her husband."You were trying to get Kanye to listen to your sub par beats. You have the audacity to use Kanye’s mom name to try to shead a negative light on Kanye." she tweeted. She also wrote, "you better believe I will make it my mission to take Donda’s House from you and let my children run it the way it should be run!"
Rhymefest then posted a statement to his Twitter account, detailing that "we will continue from our home on the South Side of Chicago to do what we can to support the community we've worked five years to build, in spite of you and Kanye West."
Now, the statement posted to Donda's House Inc.'s Twitter account announced that, effective immediately, the organization will no longer be called Donda's House, due to the events that transpired over the last 24 hours. You can read the full statement below.
