Watch the trailer for YouTube’s G-Funk documentary
G Funk includes interviews with Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Nate Dogg.
Next month will see G Funk, a documentary looking into the genre of the same name, debut on YouTube. The original documentary was made by 22-year-old director Karam Gill and includes unseen interviews with Warren G, Snoop Dogg, and the late Nate Dogg.
The story of the music's rise is told through that trio's group 213. Warren G co-wrote, produced, and composed some of the music for the movie. G Funk debuted at SXSW in 2017 where the Hollywood Reporter described it as "informative" if "somewhat hagiographic."
"With never-before-seen footage and interviews, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, and other West Coast legends detail the rise of G Funk and its impact on both hip-hop and pop culture," the description reads.
G Funk is out July 11. Watch the trailer above.
