Lil Uzi Vert shares cult-referencing Eternal Atake art
It’s a takeoff of the logo for the notorious Heaven’s Gate cult.
Lil Uzi Vert has been teasing the phrase "Eternal Atake" all summer, and fans have speculated that it's the title of a follow-up project to his debut album Luv Is Rage 2. On Tuesday July 31, his birthday, Lil Uzi scrubbed all the posts from his Instagram page except for two: the now-viral snippet of a song dubbed "New Patek" by the internet, and what appears to be cover art for the Eternal Atake project.
The art and its subtitle are references to the Heaven's Gate cult, a notorious San Diego-based group that believed the Hale-Bopp comet was an interstellar transport UFO. 39 members committed suicide on March 26, 1997, believing their deaths would transport them off of Earth and save them from an impending "conclusion" of the planet. Lil Uzi Vert's IG avi is a screenshot of Heaven's Gate leader Marshall Applewhite, taken from a Heaven's Gate initiation video.
Speaking of aliens, we recently enjoyed a meme of a silver hominid dancing to Lil Uzi's "Money Longer."
