Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker announces new solo LP abysskiss
Hear its first single, “cradle.”
Last year, Big Thief released their gripping sophomore effort Capacity. Since then, they've debuted new material at their live shows, suggesting that a third record is in the works. But before that, frontwoman Adrianne Lenker will release her second solo album, abysskiss, a collection of tracks born out of two years on the road with Big Thief.
"I want to archive the songs in their original forms every few years," Lenker said in a press release. "My first solo record I made was Hours Were the Bird. I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City...Now five years later, another skin is being shed." In anticipation, she's shared the soft and warming first single "cradle," which you can listen to below. abysskiss is due out Oct. 5 via Saddle Creek.
