Dr. Bernice King isn’t a fan of Cardi B’s Coretta Scott King impression
The youngest daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. claims Cardi has apologized for spoofing her mother in a new sketch.
Cardi B is taking heat from Dr. Bernice King, the youngest daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., for her portrayal of her mother Coretta Scott King in a new sketch, TMZ reports.
The sketch, titled The Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement, was filmed for Wild-N-Out star Rip Michaels's new show Off the Rip, and contains numerous jokes about Martin Luther King Jr.'s alleged adultery. In a since-deleted statement on Twitter, Dr. Bernice King called the sketches portrayals of female civil rights leaders "repulsive" and "false." She also asked Cardi B for a face-to-face meeting. Dr. King later followed up with another tweet claiming Cardi had apologized for the sketch. "I look forward to talking with you soon," she wrote.
A representative for Cardi B was not immediately available to comment.
