Michael Jackson’s vocals on Scorpion were reportedly recorded in 1983
Tyga even allegedly had the vocals at one point.
The source of Drake's surprise Michael Jackson feature on Scorpion has been discovered. On Wednesday, an LA Times story on Michael Jackson's brand and image pointed out that the vocals on "Don't Matter To Me" came from a 1983 recording session with collaborator Paul Anka.
The vocals in question reportedly touched the hands of a number of artists — including Tyga — before ultimately finding a home on Scorpion. Co-executor of Jackson's estate John Branca also told the publication that Drake was deeply interested in doing the record. "Drake was so passionate about it,” Branca said. “It was like how could we not do this one? It fit so well."
