Ariana Grande earns first #1 song as “Thank u, next” tops Billboard Hot 100
The first woman to debut at #1 in three years.
After a whirlwind year, Ariana Grande has landed atop the Billboard Hot 100 with the help of her newest single "Thank u, next." Billboard reports that the sweet single — which released on Saturday November 3 — is the #1 song in the country this week. "Thank u, next" brought in a whopping 55.5 million streams and 81,000 downloads in the first week. Grande now boasts 11 top ten entries on the Hot 100, her previous high came with her 2014 single "Problems" which landed at #2.
Grande is the first woman this year to climb to #1 with a solo record since Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" topped the charts last October. Ari's #1 also marks the first time a woman has debuted at #1 in three years — the last being Adele with her 2015 smash "Hello."
