Donovan Woods’s “Go To Her” will make you long for love
The singer’s latest album Both Ways is out now.
Toronto musician Donovan Woods is no stranger to making music that tugs at the heart-strings.
His latest release, titled "Go To Her," premieres today via The FADER, and does just that. The song shares the heart-wrenching story of being away from a loved one, or being unable to restore that meaningful connection in a relationship. The track, which just missed the cut on the singer/songwriter's latest album Both Ways, is highlighted by Woods's soft vocals over lush guitar melodies and a subtle string arrangement.
"'Go To Her' is about is the anxiety we feel for our loved one's safety when we’re away from them, and also kind of about how once relationships go sour it often feels impossible to drag them back to where they once were," Woods tells The FADER.
"The lyric video, to me, is about that feeling of having to do your job while something much more significant and worrisome is on your mind. I mean that’s obviously me in the video. When you’re a touring performer, waiting around for the show can be a real killer."
Beginning on February 27, Woods will kick off a two month-long North American tour, stopping in multiple cities in Canada and the States. Check dates here.
