Ariana Grande joined by *NSYNC, P Diddy and Mase during Coachella set
Nicki Minaj also appeared, though was plagued by technical issues.
Ariana Grande closed the first weekend of Coachella on Sunday with the help of a raft of special guests. *NSYNC, minus Justin Timberlake, joined Grande to perform "Tearin' Up My Heart," on day three of the festival. The group had teased a special appearance earlier in the day via social media and Grande introduced the group by saying: “I’ve been rehearsing my entire motherfucking life for this moment. Coachella, NSYNC!”
Grande also turned to P Diddy and Mase for their help performing Biggie's 1996 single "Mo Money Mo Problems."
However, a cameo appearance from Nicki Minaj went less smoothly. Minaj was due to perform "Bang Bang" and "Side To Side" with Grande but both songs were marred by technical issues affecting the sound. At one point Grande flagged the problems she and Minaj were facing, saying: "We can’t hear anything."
Grande will return to Coachella next weekend (April 19-21) for the second weekend of the festival.
