Kid Cudi says he’ll release new music and tour in 2020
Aside from a few festival dates, Cudi will “do other things” this year.
Kid Cudi inspires a level of devotion from his fans that few artists can ever hope to. The melodic wave he founded back in the mid-'00s is still ridden by rappers looking to make an impact, and his openness about his struggles with mental illness makes fans feel protective, especially the ones who were helped through dark times by his soothing hums.
After dropping Kids See Ghosts with Kanye West last year, fans were eager for a follow-up to 2016's solo effort Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'. But despite hinting that a new album was coming in 2019, Cudi on Friday tweeted that music and touring are on hold until 2020. "Gonna work the rest of this year," he wrote on Twitter. "In no rush to do anything right now. I dont drop albums every year anymore. Gotta give myself time to do other things. And relax!"
