Geto Boys reportedly pull “Final Farewell” tour over exploitation fears
TMZ reports that Bushwick Bill, currently undergoing cancer treatment, is unhappy with tour organizers.
Geto Boys have reportedly called off an upcoming tour amid claims Bushwick Bill feels organizers are taking advantage of his recent cancer diagnosis.
TMZ reports Bushwick Bill was unhappy with the title of the tour: “The Beginning of a Long Goodbye: The Final Farewell.” He is currently undergoing treatment for stage four pancreatic cancer and is quoted as saying he is not "on his deathbed."
The trio were due to begin the run of live dates today, May 24. TMZ notes that Bushwick Bill will now head out on a solo tour, reportedly titled "Phuck Cancer," instead. 10 per cent of profits from the solo tour will be donated to pancreatic cancer patients in each city the tour stops at.
As Pitchfork notes, Geto Boys are yet to announce the tour’s cancelation but all four shows have been removed or labeled “canceled” on the corresponding venue websites.
