Today, the music world mourns the loss of famed songwriter LaShawn Daniels, who died in a car accident on Wednesday morning at 41. From the start of his career, Daniels lent a hand in a few of the biggest hits of the late nineties — he co-wrote Brandy and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine" at the age of 20. From there, Daniels went on to write for the likes of Whitney Houston, Drake, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Ray J. He won multiple Grammys for his work with Destiny's Child (on "Say My Name") and Tamar Braxton (on "Love and War").
