U.K. rock band Coach Party go intergalactic in their animated “Space” video
The British four piece will release their debut EP Party Food in June.
Coach Party hail from the Isle of Wight, a tiny U.K. destination famed for its white cliffs and historical music festival. Like all good bands, though, this grunge-pop foursome are busy preapring for their escape. And as the video for their scuzzy and undeniably catchy new song "Space" suggests, they are looking way beyond the nearest big city when it comes to getting off the island.
Filled with cutesy animals in space suits, the "Space" video imagines warring cat and dog armies as they duke it out over a newfound planet in a far-flung corner of the galaxy. It's a fun visual to accompany a song with far darker undertones. Speaking about the riff-heavy track, vocalist Jess Eastwood told The FADER: “'Space' is about the emotion of putting your feelings on the line and how tormenting someone can be when you break up. The control someone has over you when they know something you don’t want others to know.”
"Space" will appear alongside previous singles "Oh Lola" and "Breakdown" on Coach Party's debut EP Party Food, due June 12 via Chess Club. Check out the video above.
