Vybz Kartel shares remix of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP”
Hear a dancehall version of Cardi and Megan’s most recent hit.
Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel has been in prison since 2014 on murder charges, and his widely-expected release from prison this year never materialized after Jamaica's Court of Appeals upheld his conviction. He'll be eligible for parole in 2046, but it seems likely that his steady stream of new music releases will continue unabated for the near future.
His most recent drop is "WAP Freestyle," a remix of the new song from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Unsurprisingly, Vybz chooses to double down on the song's original raunch for the one minute and thirty-second track — except this time, of course, it's rapped from a male perspective. For her part, Cardi B was happy Kartel put his spin on "WAP," commenting on the song's announcement post: "OMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGG I WANT TO HEAR IT NOOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!" Check it out above.
In June, Kartel shared his latest full-length project Of Dons and Divas.
