Sevdaliza shares new video “Habibi”
The clip marks the Iranian-Dutch artist’s directorial debut.
Dutch-Iranian artist Sevdaliza shared the striking video for her latest single, "Habibi," on Wednesday. The black & white clip finds the singer making her way through both urban and open spaces, encountering love, comfort, fear, loyalty, and friendship along the way. The video also marks the singer's directorial debut, partnering with Anastasia Konovalova to form sevda+ana.
The single, set to appear on Sevdaliza's upcoming album, Shabrang, pairs warbled, digitized vocals over brooding, cinematic production. "Is there anyone out there / to get me out of my head," she sings on the track. Earlier this year, the singer dropped the 3-track Joanna EP, which featured "Lamp Lady," and "Oh My God."
Though she had to cancel her 7-date spring tour due to COVID-19, fans will still get a chance to see her stage show, at least virtually, as she's set to deliver a live-streamed special performance from the historic Royal Theatre in The Hague on August 31. Tickets for the show are available here.
