Watch Protoje’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert
The reggae star performs tracks from his latest album, In Search of Lost Time.
Reggae star Protoje was the lastest performer on the home edition of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, turning his backyard in Kingston, Jamaica into a stylized, art-filled outdoor stage set-up. The performance closely follows that of his In.Digg.Nation Collective artist and frequent collaborator Lila Iké, who did her own Tiny Desk set back in August.
On the heels of his latest album, In Search of Lost Time, Protoje kicked off the performance with "Deliverance," one of its tracks. "I hold my order, give my praises / Oh Jah, deliver me through these days, Jah deliver me / Sometimes really hard to go and face it / Oh this life can truly be amazing, amazing," he sings. From there, he bounds into "Strange Happenings" and "Same So," before wrapping it all up with his Grammy-nominated song, "Who Knows," originally featuring Chronixx.
