Watch Sevdaliza’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert
The singer and producer performed four tracks, including three from her 2020 album Shabrang.
Iranian-Dutch singer Sevdaliza performed a handful of tracks on the latest home edition of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series from Amsterdam bookstore and publishing house, MENDO.
Backed by a quartet of musicians, she kicked the performance off with a rendition of her 2017 track "Human." Pausing for a moment, the singer welcomes viewers to the remainder of the performance with the sounds of Brazilian bossa nova in the background. "Good afternoon humans, my name is Sevdaliza. You're very welcome on flight 808; our destination is Shabrang," she says, referring to the title of her 2020 album. From there, she continues her set with "Dormant," "All Rivers at Once," and "Gole Bi Goldoon," from Shabrang.
